Come Ride With Us!

The South Ogden City Fire Department has a "Ride-Along Program". This program gives non-member citizens an opportunity to "ride along with the crews" and to have first hand experience on the day-to-day life of your South Ogden Firefighters. This is also a great opportunity for EMT students and young adults pursuing a career in the Fire Service to get a taste of this rewarding profession.

Permitted Ride-Along hours are from 9:00am through 9:00pm, Monday through Friday. You can pick what times and for how long you wish to participate within the 12 hour period. Safety of our Ride-Along participants is our number one concern, so please stay with the crew at all times and follow any instruction(s) provided by the Shift Officer. Always "buckle up" when riding in a department vehicle during any trip. Light participation in daily activities is permitted as a way to "get the full experience". Feel free to assist the crews with their daily assignments and mentored involvement with the less critical emergency responses. We expect your Ride-Along will be an enjoyable experience!

There are a few requirments for being permitted to ride-along;

-You must be at least 18 years of age

-Show up for your "shift" on time and dressed in clean attire appropriate for light participation and observation (no shorts or tanktops)

-If you are an EMT student or Firefighter / Police Officer with an other agency, wear your approved uniform

-Do not bring any weapons to your "shift"

-Download the Ride-Along Application, read, sign, and submit for approval with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Due to the inherent nature of the job, we do not recommend participation in this program if you have any aversions to situations involving severe human injury or illnesses. Although it is not everyday our personnel are exposed to this type of emergency response, we obviously cannot predict when such an event may occur.
